Depend on the make of drill as well as its age. Some need a key

chuck to remove, some you twist off by turning the collar below the drill

On a Bosch unit, grasp the collar around the chuck and push it  
cendol
towards the motor. You may or may not have to rotate the collar about 1/4

turn. Then pull the bit straight out.

To install a new bit, just push it straight into the chuck.

You unlock it with the key and you change it
