TILER PORCELAIN FLOOR TILES,Ive just used 4 masonry bits to drill one hole on hammer setting,whats going on.

Yes it is the masonry bits that wear out,though on normal ceramic

use a glass drilling bit and turn hammer of , once ur thru the

glaze (thats the hardest bit of the tile) it should fly thru, glass bit is

id try that before going for diamond bits .save ur money , most diy places

don`t use hammer setting the drill bits are brittle and

breaking.put tape on tile and just drill

drill365, these are the cheapest to use & they dont need lots of mounting  
arbors & water feeds etc they also come with a very handy template for  
starting the drill on the smooth surface  
vitrex, same type as drill365  
marcroist  
armeg, different system  
 
follow the instructions, water, NO hammer  
even diamond will wear out so tell the supplier how many holes you are  
drilling, if its a lot in porcelain you may well need extra bits

being a tiler i wood suggest that you need a diamond drill bit

and not use ya drill on the hammer setting it will only break the tile ,a

when drilling porcelain tiles put some tape on the part of the

You should use a tile cutting bit, or an sds drill and bit,

tiles will laugh at a hammer drill.

Start with a pilot hole and work up to the size you need , use

a good quality bit i.e hilti
